Sexual Harassment at Work Place (Prevention,Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013 has made it mandatory for every organization to put in place preventive, corrective and punitive measures to eliminate sexual harassment at the place of work.

Shanti Mojumdar retired as AGM Disciplinary Proceedings Cell, State Bank of India (Mumbai Circle), and has dealt with a large number of cases relating to Departmental enquiry and Disciplinary action and is well versed in procedure relating to Departmental Enquiry. This experience enabled her to conduct enquiries relating to sexual harassment in a fair and unbiased manner. She was also appointed as head of the Complaints Committee which dealt with cases relating to sexual harassment.

On her retirement SBI retained her services on a contract basis to disseminate knowledge about Gender Justice and prevention of Sexual harassment at SBI offices across the country. Mrs. Mojumdar also drafted the uniform procedure for conducting enquiries relating to complaints of sexual harassment as part of her contract with The Bank.

She makes power point presentations to sensitize employees as required by the Act . She has conducted numerous such programmes at State Bank of India. She has also conducted programmes at several Public Sector/Private Sector and multinational organisations. She has conducted over 400 such programs.

  • Organising workshops and training programmes at regular intervals to sensitize employees and create awareness regarding prevention of sexual harassment.
  • Assisting organizations in preparing a manual/handbook on corporate policy relating to sexual harassment.
  • Training Members of the Internal Complaints Committee/ HR personnel to handle complaints of sexual harassment.
  • Assistance in installing the entire complaint handling mechanism for MNCs who are about to commence their operations in India and for domestic companies who have no such mechanism in place as yet.
  • Acting as the external / third party member in the Internal Complaints Committee.
